Now that the Obama Family has announced they are getting a Portuguese water dog, it seems the world has taken an interest in the First Families new dog. President Obama said in January the family had narrowed their search down to a Portuguese Water Dog and a Labradoodle.
Reports from the White House say that the new pup will be a rescue dog, which should delight animal rights groups who have been lobbying the family to adopt a dog. So this brings the Obama's to the next step of this process for the world's most famous Portuguese water dog. It's time to play the name game.
The million dollar question is what name will the Obama's pick for the new member of the family? In a recent interview with People Magazine, Michelle Obama said that the name is still up in the air.
"Oh, the names are really bad. I don't even want to mention it, because there are names floating around and they're bad," Mrs. Obama said. "I think, Frank was one of them. Frank! Moose was another one of them. Moose. I said, well, what if the dog isn't a moose? Moose. I'm like, no, come on, let's work with the names a little bit."
So the Obama's dog saga continues. What will they name their new Portuguese Water Dog? The First Lady said that they are looking to get the dog in April “after Spring Break”.
What do you think they should name the Portuguese Water Dog?
